Have a holly jolly Christmas
It’s the best time of the year
Well I don’t know if there’ll be snow
But have a cup of cheer

We took Ashley to see the Christmas parade yesterday morning!  One of the things that I love about the holidays are the traditions that come with it.  I remember going to the Christmas parade with my family when I was little, and I am so happy to be able to start that tradition with Ashley.  So off we went.  And I was prepared…we took both the stroller and the wagon.  Ashley rode in the stroller while the wagon carried our chairs and food (we stopped at Biscuitville for breakfast).  We met my sister, Jenn, her husband, Nathan, and their little girl, Finley there.  It was fun hanging out with them.  Finley was so cute all bundled up!

I wish I had remembered how windy it was downtown.  I was going to bring a blanket but then I got so hot packing the car I didn’t think we would need it so I left it at home.  But once we got in between those buildings downtown, the wind really picked up which made it quite chilly.  Ashley did have a jacket with hood on so that helped a bit.  We watched the floats and people pass by and enjoyed our breakfast.  Ashley loved the bacon, egg & cheese biscuit!  We saw Jason Michael Carrol, local TV anchors, high school bands (my favorite part), dancers, Indian Guides/Princesses, and all sorts of other people and floats.  Ashley sat on my shoulders some, but had a better view from Van’s shoulders.  At one point, Van put her on his head so she could see better.  She liked the music and dancing, and even waved and clapped.    We stayed for about an hour and a half and then left before it ended.  So we didn’t get to see Santa (not that Ashley would know who he is anyway) but it was still a lot of fun! 

I totally recommend going to a Christmas parade if you have one in your home town.  It really put me in the Christmas spirit!  So much so, that I think I may crank up the Christmas tunes and begin decorating today.  And I’ve never been one to decorate before Thanksgiving!

I love my family so much and it was nice to spend the week with them.  I’m a very lucky girl!  Until next time…
