We went to a playdate this morning at our friends’ Kara and Caleb’s house. Jan and Brody were there, too. As we were leaving, Brody gave me a hug and so we asked him if he would give Ashley a hug, too. Normally he does this quick “lean in” type of hug and then darts back to Jan. Well, this morning was different. He put his head on her shoulder on one side, then does the same thing on her other shoulder, and then…puts both hands on her shoulders and leans in for a kiss! Then he does this happy dance as he’s running back to Jan. And Ashley runs to me, smiling ear to ear. Oh my goodness it was the cutest thing I have ever seen!! And of course, no one had their camera ready. Shoot! But there were 4 witnesses, so I can prove it did indeed happen. Those two are just so stinkin’ cute together! I wish I could have captured that moment. It was so innocently sweet!
So Ashley, when you read this years from now and have (what you think is) your first kiss at whatever age that might be (a long time from now), just know that Mommy witnessed your very first kiss at age 2! And it was with your best buddy Brody 
This post brought tears to my eyes and laughter to my mouth. These two certainly have a special relationship, that's for sure. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes. Brody rarely kisses anyone outside of me and Daddy, especially without being prompted. He went right for the lips, didn't he? :) That would be his very first kiss too and I'm so glad it was with Ashley (even though they have no clue what it means...first kiss). :) Even if they never date, I know they'll both be looking out for each other to make sure one another is dating an amazing person. I love that they're in each others lives (and you in mine). :)
