Yesterday was our last full day in Orlando. We left bright and early this morning to come home, and Ashley is already in her own bed as I type this. We made good time, too. Less than 10 hours. I am so pleasantly surprised at how well Ashley did in the car. She far exceeded my expectations and was a great little road tripper! I see many more Disney trips in our future
We spent yesterday hanging out poolside and relaxing in our cabana. Ashley finally warmed up to the pool and enjoyed running around in it, splashing, and swimming with Grandaddy. She didn’t understand why she couldn’t continue to run in the pool where the water gets deeper. She fell a few times and went completely under. But even that didn’t phase her. She waved to other kids, danced around, and was a cool chick with Nana’s sunglasses on. Oh, and me and Nana even went down the water slide!
Ashley’s first trip to Disney was amazing and magical. It was everything I had hoped it would be! We had so much fun and I would like to thank my parents for letting us tag along and use their timeshare. Ashley really enjoyed spending so much time with them. In fact, I’m not sure how she is going to do next week when they are not just outside her door anymore. Every morning last week she would wake up and immediately run out of our room excited to see them. And she loved running up and down the hall with Nana. I’m afraid tomorrow morning is going to be a disappointment for her when she sees that it’s just me and Van!
I would also like to thank Grandma Murray for watching our four-legged kids for us. Blake developed an ear infection right before we left so she ended up having to nurse him back to health while we were gone. I really appreciate her taking good care of them for us. We not only came home to a couple of happy dogs, but she had left flowers on the table for me for Mother’s Day. How sweet is that?!
