We participated in the SPCA K9-3K Dog Walk yesterday morning. I know what you’re thinking, we’ve been doing a lot of walks lately. Just figured it was a good habit to start
I love the SPCA and am happy to do anything I can to help their cause. I used to volunteer there several years ago. I would help out with the dogs – take them out, play with them, clean up their rooms. It was hard not to come home with one or two! It’s such a good organization and is a no-kill shelter. The animals (and people) there are great! I cannot wait to take Ashley there to volunteer one day. To show her the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community.
The walk was so much fun! We met our friends Brian and Melanie (Graham and Sadie) out there. Luckily the walk was finished before the crazy storm came through. A tornado hit not far from our house and it was oh so scary! Ashley and I hunkered in the bathroom while Van filmed the storm from the window. I thought hail was going to bust through the windows. It was so loud and creepy, but we made it through unharmed. So many people lost their homes and 22 people were killed. We are very blessed to have made it through alright.
On a more positive note, here are some photos from the walk. Ashley got to meet lots of cool doggies and the boys had fun making new friends!
