Van surprised me with ACC tickets last week.  We went to the semi-finals on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday.  It was so much fun!  Nana and Grandaddy stayed here with Ashley, so we could have a weekend to ourselves.  It was absolutely wonderful!  Van flew us to Greensboro Saturday morning and we spent the night at The Embassy Suites.  He even surprised me with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room!  One of the highlights of the trip was our driver, Murph.  Van called ahead before we arrived and made reservations with him to pick us up from the airport, take us to the hotel and colosseum, and basically drive us around for the weekend.  It was awesome!  He was from New Jersey and had lots of funny stories to tell.  He was a trip!  Had us laughing the whole time.

The games were fun and it was very exciting to be there and see them in person.  The championship game, as you know, was UNC v. Duke.  There was so much Carolina blue in the colosseum that I almost threw up in my mouth.  Ugh.  I despise Carolina.  It was crazy how many Carolina fans were there.  We were surrounded by them, yet we pulled for Duke.  And whatdaya know, UNC got whooped!  It was a great ending to a fun weekend!  Any day UNC gets beat is a good day for me.  Maybe next year we will see NC State in the championship game.  A girl can dream, right?
