Ashley has never been real active in her crib. Even though she crawls around on the floor, she doesn’t move around much in her crib. She normally just lays on her back and occasionally rolls from side to side. Recently she has been rolling over at night to sleep on her tummy. But that’s it; well…until now! This week she has gotten up on all fours and crawled around. Reached up and banged on top of the front railing. She even crawled up to the camera we have sitting on the corner of her crib and stared at it (which is a hoot to see from the monitor!) It was only a matter of time before she would pull herself up and try to get out. So it was inevitable that we were going to have to move her mattress down. I just didn’t realize it would be this soon!
Last night we made the big transition. Took her mattress out and lowered it. It was kind of a sad moment. I feel like she is growing up overnight. I remember Van putting the crib together a year ago, when I was pregnant. I sat on the floor with him and we talked about how excited we were to meet our little girl. I can almost tell you what I was wearing that day as I remember it so vividly. What an exciting time that was! Fast forward a year, and now I’m sitting on the floor singing songs with Ashley as he took the crib apart and put it back together. My, how quickly things change!
I love this post! She is growing up and it is flying by quite fast. Oh how sweet this post is.
