Peaches for my Peach

Ashley loves  her some peaches!  It’s a good thing, too because peaches are high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C and they contain a great amount of fiber.  The perfect baby food!  Would you like to make some peach puree for your little one?  Here’s how!

If you are using a Babycook, fill the blender with water to Line 2.  There are 3 different lines depending on what you are cooking.  With peaches, you only need to fill it to Line 2.

Next, find some fresh peaches.  Preferably from a local farmer’s market.  But I wasn’t able to do that this day so I had to settle for ones from the grocery store.  I used four peaches.

Make sure you wash and peel them before dicing into cubes.  Peaches are on the EWG’s“dirty dozen” list which means they are more likely to accumulate pesticides on the skin.  Yet another reason to go organic.  Then set the Babycook to cook.  You will know they are done when the light turns off.  It only takes about 10 minutes, and they smell yummy while they are cooking!

Once they are cooked, empty out some of the water, leaving only a little bit of water in the blender.  The water helps to make a thin, smooth puree.  Then puree them to the desired consistency.  I can almost smell them through this picture!  Delicious!

Set aside some to feed to baby.  And freeze the rest in ice cube trays.

Here are some pictures of Ashley’s first try at peaches.  As with all new things, it took a little getting used to.  But now peaches are one of her favorite foods!  Oh, and incase you are wondering…her head is so greasy because I put baby oil in it to get rid of the cradle cap that was still lingering.  So she had a greasy lil’ head for a few days.  It worked though!
