I really enjoy making baby food for Ashley. Maybe too much! Van said last night that I spend more time on Ashley’s food than I do ours. Which is sad, but true. I love to bake sweets and I love to make baby food, but as far as dinner for us…not so much. As I was baking food for Ashley in the oven last night, I fixed us a Stouffer’s lasagna in the microwave. Ha! Poor Van, I know. It’ll be easier when I can make something for all of us. But with Ashley’s food having to be cooked and pureed, I seem to concentrate more on her dishes.
I’ve been wanting to do something different lately. Summery and using a combination of foods. Is summery a word? Anyways, the other day we tried a tropical fruit puree. Pretty isn’t it? It’s made with mango, kiwi, and papaya. She likes it “alright”. She wouldn’t eat it the first time I tried. The second time she ate it, but only after a few funny faces. I think the texture is a little different. It’s not as smooth as the other purees I’ve made, and there are tiny black seeds in it from the kiwi. Plus it tastes way different than anything she’s ever eaten. It’s taken a few tries, but she’s starting to come around now. Oh, and speaking of those tiny black seeds…the saying really is true, what goes in, comes back out! Just thought I’d warn you!
