Should I Stay or Should I Go?

That is a tough question.  Stay at home or go back to work?  Stay at home with Ashley but give up my salary and benefits?  Go back to work but put Ashley in daycare?  There are pros and cons to both scenarios.  We ultimately decided that I would stay at home and raise Ashley.  So I resigned from my position with CSH last week.  I will miss working there.  But I am so excited to stay home with Ashley!  I just could not bear the thought of leaving her with someone or taking her to daycare.  So after much thought, Van and I made the decision for me to stay home with her.  I am so happy that I will now have the most rewarding job in the world!  I am thankful that this was even an option for us, and could not pass up the opportunity to stay home with Ashley and watch her grow.  Despite the sacrifices that will be made, I have a feeling it will totally be worth it!

She had her 2 month check-up yesterday with the pediatrician.  She now weighs 10 lb. 1/2 oz. and is 22 inches long.  I’m amazed at how much she has grown!  She is growing at a normal healthy rate.  The pediatrician was shocked that she is sleeping through the night already.  She was given vaccines and cried pretty hard.  We gave her some Children’s Tylenol and she ended up sleeping most of the day.  One thing that the pediatrician noticed is how her head is growing in the back.  She has a flat spot on the right side from where she lays all the time.  Her head is always tilted to the right.  When she sleeps in her crib or even in her car seat, her head falls to the right.  We think that is how she was in the womb and so her neck muscles got stronger on that side.  The pediatrician told us to make her lay on the left side and prop her up at night so she can’t turn to the right.  We tried it last night and she slept just fine on her left side – yay!

We went to Portrait Innovations in Cary this weekend to get some pictures taken.  Oh my goodness are they good!!  My brother-in-law, Nathan, is the manager there.  Molly was our photographer and she did a fantastic job!  She had obviously worked with babies before.  If you want some awesome pictures of your little one – go see Nathan and Molly!  I was so excited when I saw them; it was hard to pick out which ones to print, so we printed LOTS.  I know I’m a little bias, but I swear Ashley is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!  Don’t you agree?
