2 Weeks Old

Ashley is 2 weeks old today!  I see her personality coming out each and every day.  She is so funny!   She makes all sorts of funny faces.  She is opening her eyes and is more alert now.  She can’t focus yet, but you can tell that she is trying.  She loves being taken to different rooms of the house.  She just looks up at the ceiling and looks around the room taking it all in.  She really likes looking up at the fan in her nursery.  She is mesmerized by it for some reason.  She is also getting stronger.  She lifts her head now and will turn it while you are holding her.  I can’t believe how strong she is at only 2 weeks old.  She also kicks her legs and will grab hold of things with her hands.  She has quite a grip, too!  Sometimes she groans while she is sleeping.  Makes me wonder what she is dreaming about.  And if you get lucky, you can catch her smiling.  She is a happy baby

We can’t give her a bath yet because her belly button hasn’t healed yet, but we did wash her hair last week.  She has so much hair, it was already getting greasy from holding her head all the time.  I think she enjoyed having her head massaged by Daddy.  

The boys are getting better with her, too.  I can see the protective nature coming out now.  Blake will go up to the pack and play to check on her.  He’ll stick his head up on the edge to see how she is doing.  And Toby is getting used to her.  They both get concerned whenever she moves or makes a noise.  It’s quite cute.  They will definitely be the protective older brothers!
